Brothers Henderson Durkin Welcomes Katie Marrs and Amy Spitzer as Partners
Brothers Henderson Durkin, P.S. proudly announces the promotion of Katie Marrs and Amy Spitzer to partners, recognizing two outstanding attorneys whose leadership, judgment, and dedication to clients exemplify our values. Both Katie and Amy have become trusted leaders within the firm distinguishing themselves through exceptional client service, practice area knowledge, and leadership within the elder law, disability, guardianship, and healthcare communities. Their advancement strengthens our management team and reflects our long-standing commitment to compassionate, high-quality representation.

Katie Marrs’ practice focuses on the complex legal needs of individuals with disabilities and those requiring long-term care, as well as their families. She provides effective and practical planning tailored to each client's unique situation. Katie’s comprehensive legal services in the areas of elder and disability law include benefits advocacy, long-term care planning, guardianship/conservatorship, estate planning, and estate & trust administration. She started her practice at Northwest Elder Law Group PLLC in 2017 and then joined Brothers Henderson Durkin as an associate in 2021. Katie is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Washington Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She has been named a “Rising Star” by
Washington Law & Politics since 2022.
Katie received her J.D. from University of Washington School of Law in 2017 and her B.A. from University of Washington in 2014, double majoring in English and Law, Societies & Justice.

Amy Spitzer’s practice focuses on the representation of professional guardians and other fiduciaries. She also assists healthcare facilities in navigating complex patient issues, including petitioning for guardianship and conservatorship for patients in need. With over ten years of experience in guardianship and healthcare law, Amy has overseen various matters as an adept and passionate advocate for fiduciaries and healthcare entities. She is a past Chair of the King County Bar Association Guardianship and Elder Law Section and has since served continuously on the Executive Committee. Amy has been named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Elder Law by her peers every year since 2021.
Amy earned her J.D., cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 2014, where she was a member of Seattle University Law Review. She received her B.A. from University of Washington in 2008, double majoring in Law, Societies & Justice and Women’s Studies.
“I’m honored to join the partnership and continue advocating for professional guardians, fiduciaries, and healthcare providers navigating some of the most complex and sensitive issues in our legal system,” said Amy. “In my new role, I look forward to expanding Brothers Henderson Durkin’s commitment to serving vulnerable individuals navigating guardianship and healthcare law.”
