Professional Profile
Amy Spitzer’s practice focuses on representation of professional guardians and other fiduciaries. She also
assists healthcare facilities in navigating complex patient issues, including petitioning for guardianship and
conservatorship for patients in need. With over ten years of experience in guardianship and healthcare law, Amy
has overseen various matters as an adept and passionate advocate for fiduciaries and healthcare entities.
Amy received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law where she was a member of the
Seattle University Law Review. Amy is a past Chair of the King County Bar Association Guardianship and Elder
Law Section and has since served continuously on the Executive Committee. She is regularly invited to speak to
attorneys and health care professionals on topics including guardianships/conservatorships and issues related to
complex patient discharge. In June 2023, Amy presented before the Washington State Senate Law & Justice
Committee about the challenges acute-care facilities face in discharging patients who cannot provide informed
consent. Amy has been named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Elder Law by her peers every year since 2021.
She has also volunteered with the Washington Medical-Legal Partnership, furthering their goal of equal access to
health care-related justice regardless of income.
Outside of work, she loves making homemade pasta and exploring her Georgetown neighborhood with her
husband and her very cute mutt, Dill
